We are currently looking to fill 1 position:

Furniture Plus Cashier (full-time permanent)

➢ Greet customers and provide friendly customer service
➢ Accurately and efficiently process customer purchases, including the careful packing of fragile items
➢ Restock, arrange, and tidy store displays

The Cashier is responsible to the Furniture Plus Manager. As lifting and moving heavy/bulky items is a requirement of this job, the successful candidate must be physically capable of safely lifting and transporting at least 16 kg. (35 lb.). This is a full-time (35-39 hours/week) paid position. The Cashier must be available to work 5 days a week, Tuesday-Friday, 9:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., as well as Saturday 9:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (schedule may be flexible). The successful candidate will have good organizational skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of MCC, and the ability to articulate the mission and work of MCC, is an asset. Portage MCC’s mission is to serve in the name of Christ. All Portage MCC workers are expected to either contribute to a Christian spirit in the organization or not detract from it.

This is an entry-level position with the expectation of becoming a supervisory or possibly even a management position, depending on the candidate's performance and skills. Starting wage is $12.00/hour, negotiable based on experience.
