Electric Light Orchestra – Last Train to London / Down Home Town

A two-track 7", 45 RPM vinyl release pairing ELO’s dance-floor favourite “Last Train to London” with “Down Home Town.” A nice way to enjoy two different sides of the band’s melodic rock sound.

Artist and album background

Electric Light Orchestra, widely known as ELO, blended rock and pop songwriting with orchestral textures and polished studio production. Led by songwriter and producer Jeff Lynne, the group became known for richly layered arrangements, memorable melodies, and vocal harmonies.

“Last Train to London” originally appeared on the band’s 1979 album Discovery. Its disco-influenced groove reflects the album’s emphasis on bright, danceable pop. “Down Home Town” comes from the 1975 album Face the Music and offers a contrasting country-flavoured sound. This listing is for the two-track record described below, not either complete album.
