About the Artist

Few names in rock history carry the weight of Elton John. Born Reginald Kenneth Dwight in Pinner, Middlesex in 1947, he rose to become one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with over 300 million records sold worldwide. His partnership with lyricist Bernie Taupin — one of the most celebrated songwriting collaborations in pop history — produced an extraordinary run of albums through the 1970s and into the 1980s. Known for his flamboyant stage presence, virtuosic piano playing, and an uncanny ability to craft melody, Elton John has remained a defining force in popular music for more than five decades.

About the Album

Jump Up! was released in April 1982 on MCA Records, marking a creative resurgence for Elton after a period of commercial inconsistency. Reuniting with Bernie Taupin for the majority of the album's tracks, the record blends polished pop-rock with the warmth and craft that defined Elton's classic era. Produced by Chris Thomas — known for his work with Roxy Music and the Sex Pistols — the album has a crisp, radio-ready sound that holds up remarkably well on vinyl. It reached #13 on the UK Albums Chart and #17 on the Billboard 200, and spawned several notable singles.

Record Condition

This copy has been carefully cleaned with a Spin-Clean record washer and stored in a new inner plastic sleeve. The vinyl presents with minor surface scuffs but played flawlessly on a quality turntable with no skips. Minor pops and crackles were noted during playback, consistent with the visual grade.
