Elvis Presley – Puppet on a String / Wooden Heart
A two-track Elvis Presley 7", 45 RPM vinyl record pairing the tender ballad “Puppet on a String” with the folk-influenced “Wooden Heart.” A welcome addition for listeners who enjoy the melodic side of Elvis and his movie-era recordings.
Artist and recording highlights
Elvis Presley brought together rock and roll, country, blues, gospel and pop in a career that made him one of popular music’s most recognizable performers. His film recordings also introduced audiences to a gentler, tuneful side of his voice.
“Puppet on a String” is associated with the film Girl Happy and showcases Elvis’s warm ballad delivery. “Wooden Heart,” featured in G.I. Blues, draws on the German folk song “Muss i denn” and includes German-language lyrics. This listing is for the two-track record described below, not either complete soundtrack album.
