Bring home the fiery soul and funk of Ike & Tina Turner with this pre-owned 7-inch, 45 RPM vinyl single, pairing Proud Mary with Funkier Than A Mosquita's Tweeter.

Artist & recording background

Ike & Tina Turner blended rhythm and blues, soul, rock and funk into a dynamic sound, with Tina's commanding vocals at the forefront. Their celebrated interpretation of John Fogerty's Proud Mary, first recorded by Creedence Clearwater Revival, builds from a relaxed opening into an explosive, driving performance and became one of the duo's signature recordings.

The pairing is associated with their 1971 album Workin' Together. This item is the compact 7-inch single, not the full-length album. Funkier Than A Mosquita's Tweeter, written by Tina's sister Alline Bullock, offers a gritty, rhythm-led contrast that highlights the duo's funkier side. Together, these recordings capture the energy that made the act a standout on stage and on record.
