The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band is a landmark of psychedelic rock and studio experimentation. Originally released in 1967, the album found John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr expanding beyond their early pop sound with imaginative arrangements, rich instrumentation, and the framing of a fictional band.

Highlights include the vivid imagery of “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds,” the warm singalong spirit of “With a Little Help from My Friends,” and the orchestral sweep of “A Day in the Life.” Its inventive production and memorable cover art helped make it one of the defining albums of the Beatles’ career.
