About the Artist
Foreigner burst onto the rock scene in 1977 as a transatlantic supergroup, blending the hard-rock instincts of British guitarist Mick Jones and vocalist Lou Gramm's powerhouse American delivery. The band's lineup at the time of Double Vision included Jones, Gramm, Ian McDonald, Al Greenwood, Ed Gagliardi, and Dennis Elliott — a six-piece that fused arena-ready hooks with muscular riffs and radio-perfect production. Within two years of their debut, Foreigner had become one of the best-selling rock acts in the world, a position Double Vision only cemented.
About the Album
Released in June 1978, Double Vision is Foreigner's sophomore effort and the record that transformed them from a promising debut act into genuine rock royalty. Produced by Keith Olsen and the band, the album reached #3 on the Billboard 200 and was certified 7× Platinum in the United States. It captures the band at their most confident — tighter arrangements, sharper songwriting, and a sonic punch that still hits hard nearly five decades later. The title track spent ten weeks at #2 on the Hot 100, and the album spawned multiple Top 40 singles.
Track Highlights
- "Hot Blooded" — One of rock's most recognisable opening riffs; a #3 hit and a live staple to this day.

- "Blue Morning, Blue Day" — A melodic deep cut that showcases Lou Gramm's vocal range at its most emotive.
- "Tramontane" — An atmospheric instrumental that reveals the band's progressive rock roots via Ian McDonald's multi-instrumental work.
