Artist and release background

Elvis Presley helped bring rock and roll to a worldwide audience, blending influences from country, rhythm and blues, and gospel. His expressive vocals and energetic performances made him one of popular music's defining artists.

Released as a single in August 1972, Burning Love was written by Dennis Linde and became one of Elvis's standout later-career hits, reaching No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. Its driving rhythm and spirited vocal contrast with the more reflective B-side, It's a Matter of Time. The title song also appeared on the compilation Burning Love and Hits from His Movies, Volume 2; the single and that album are separate releases.
