Fleetwood Mac’s 1990 album Behind the Mask blends melodic pop-rock, layered harmonies, and the band’s distinctive songwriting voices. It was their first studio album after Lindsey Buckingham’s departure, with guitarists Billy Burnette and Rick Vito joining Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie, John McVie, and Mick Fleetwood.

Highlights include the upbeat “Save Me,” the reflective “Skies the Limit,” and Stevie Nicks’s atmospheric “Freedom.” The album offers a snapshot of Fleetwood Mac entering a new chapter while retaining their familiar mix of polished pop and roots-influenced rock.
