James Brown – Jam/1980's

A late-1970s outing from James Brown, the pioneering soul and funk performer widely known as the Godfather of Soul. His commanding vocals and rhythm-first approach helped shape the sound of funk, making his recordings enduring favourites for listeners drawn to tightly locked grooves.

Released in 1978 on Polydor and produced by Brown himself, Jam 1980's pairs his funk foundation with disco-era dance-floor energy. Highlights include “The Spank,” “Eyesight,” and “Nature,” offering a snapshot of Brown's sound as the decade moved toward its close. Put it on for a taste of his late-'70s groove-driven style.
